Asiantuntijuus
Tänään lopettelin luentopäiväkirjaani Asiantuntijuus-teemaan liittyen. Sosiaalityön aineopintojen kolmas ydinalue on Asiantuntijuus ja ammatilliset käytännöt, johon myös tämä asiantuntijuus- luentosarja kuuluu.
Tuomo Kokkosen pitämät 4 asiantuntijuusluentoa olivat tuhti paketti sosiaalityöntekijän ammattiin ja yleensäkin yhteiskunnassamme vaikuttavaan ammatillisuuteen. Asiantuntijuutta pohdittiin erilaisista näkökulmista.
"Kettu tietää monta asiaa, mutta siili tietää yhden suuren asian." (Kettu ja siili, Isaiah Berlin) Sosiaalityöntekijän on oltava ketun kaltainen. Tietoa on poimittava useilta eri alueilta ja yhteensovittaa monia asioita ja näkökulmia. Siiliasiantuntijuus taas sopii erittäin hyvin joillekin toisille aloille, joilla tärkeää on nimenomaan yhden oman alansa tietämys.
Sosiaalityöntekijällä on oltava halu oppia koko ajan uutta ja kehittää itseään. Katsantokannan tulee olla erittäin laaja.
Toivotaan, että kasvan joskus "ihan oikeaksi" sosiaalityön asiantuntijaksi :)

Interesting lecture diary entry! It's vital for social work students to understand the nuances of expertise. Tuomo Kokkonen's lectures seem comprehensive. This reminds me of something Granny used to say: "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." Focus is important, but breadth of knowledge is valuable too.
